Description
Sapeli heartwood is pink-red, later colouring to a deep brown. The sapwood, clearly demarcated from the heartwood, can be up to 60-80 mm thick and has a grey-pink or yellow-pink colour. The heartwood often has an attractive golden sheen, such as with the Swietenia mahogany types.

Uses
- Sapeli is used in both its solid and veneer forms (and plywood) for furniture, interior panelling, instruments, shells and panelling for yachts, stair treads and staircases (preferably quarter cuts) and also for parquet floors, turned goods and sculpturing

- Resistance to insects: Termites class M (moderately durable)
