Description
Freshly cut, Wengé has a light brown-yellow colour. When exposed to light it quickly becomes dark brown. The sapwood is 25-50 mm thick and has a yellow-white colour.

• Wengé is included in the list of approved timber species for application in wooden façade elements (SKH-Publication 99-05). This means that frames with a KOMO® product certificate can be manufactured with Wengé

• Furniture and panelling (both in solid and veneer form), stair treads, banisters, parquet floors and floorboards, door and window frames, doors (quarter cut posts and thresholds), turned goods, sculptures, frames

• Resistance to fungi: class 2 (durable)
• Resistance to insects: Termites class D (sapwood and heartwood very durable)
